To whom it may concern,
I and many of us have read your cordial invitation to 10X our lives. We’ve gotten the 10 million invitations in our email and social media feeds. Look, we understand the idea that you want us to possibly have the best life now and maybe make a lot more money.
Yet, here is the thing.
Most of us do not want to 10X everything.
I do not need 10X more clients. The ones I have are amazing.
I do not need 10X more partners for business. The ones I have are absolutely great.
I don’t need 10X more kids because 4 is enough and let’s face it with 40 kids, then we probably already would either be living in a small compound out in the middle of the woods or a celebrity in Hollywood that has already 10X our lives and problems.
We don’t need to 10X our work week either.
There are weeks where we feel like we have already put in 160 hours into a week by Monday and I’m pretty sure there is no way to 10X the 168 hours in the normal week for us to invest it otherwise.
What most of us really needs is not 10X everything. Instead, we need consistency, care, and commitment from the people we have in our lives especially where we place our vocational energy.
We want the opportunity to hear encouragement, challenge, and opportunity to succeed with who we are as people.
What we need is not to 10X our lives but to order our lives with the right opportunities. We need less marketing to us and more no-strings communication with us to improve our situation through meaningful vocational opportunities.
To some of us that means working with our hands in construction. To other it is running our own businesses.
To others of us that means working for an employer that values our productivity and motivation.
So thank you for your cordial invitation but at this time we are electing a different path. We are going to bet on ourselves and turn down your offer to buy your products and become mirror copies of some personality and their system.
Instead, we are going to take that we can forge our on path. We are thankful for the opportunity but please take us off your mailing list.
We’ve got work to do. We are building a legacy for us and our families.
We are having fun and we are getting stuff done.
